Jeffrey Lance Daugherty, age 65, of Valdosta passed away at his home on November 26th, 2025. The beloved son of Donald and Frankye Daugherty, Jeff was a lifelong resident of Valdosta and attended Lowndes High School and Valdosta Technical School. He was also a much-loved member of The Hahira Church of Christ.
His interest in mechanics and repair steered his path to the eventual operation of his own small trucking company. However, it was his love of music and stringed instruments that brought him the most joy. Jeff spent many hours with a banjo, mandolin, fiddle, or fiddle in his hand.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Frankye Daugherty, and brothers Bobby Don Daugherty and Bradley Wetherington Daugherty. Many relatives and friends loved him, as well.
The family will celebrate his life privately and plan to honor him on a daily basis. He will be sorely missed, but our time together lives on in our hearts. In his memory, we encourage you to take up a musical instrument and play. Jeff will hear you and smile.
Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Daugherty family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
