Jeffrey David Hendren, a cherished son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Moberly, MO on August 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Moberly at Moberly Community Hospital to Terry and Patricia (Stuck) Hendren on July 4, 1963, and his life's journey came full circle in the town he called home.
Jeffrey dedicated his professional life as a precision machinist, a career he approached with meticulous skill and dedication. Beyond his work, he selflessly served his community as a volunteer firefighter for 27 years at the Orchard Farm Fire Protection District, where he held the esteemed position of Fire Lieutenant. His passion for service extended to his role as a CASA advocate, where he made a difference in the lives of children for six years. For 15 years, Jeffrey was a steadfast volunteer at Trustees Motorcycle shop, where his love for motorcycles and his generous spirit left an indelible mark.
Jeffrey had a zest for life that was reflected in his many interests and hobbies. He had a deep passion for pulling tractors and an enduring love for motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons. He played a pivotal role in organizing the annual Toy Run for Toys for Tots and other Poker Runs, events that brought joy and support to countless children and members of the community. Jeffrey also found solace in fishing, a pastime he enjoyed throughout his life.
In addition to his human family, Jeffrey had a special bond with his three beloved black labs—Harley, Duncan, and Ellie—whom he loved immensely.
Described by many as a "good man," Jeffrey was a beloved member of the biker community and was always ready to lend a helping hand, often willing to give anyone the shirt off his back.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Patricia Hendren of O’Fallon, MO; his wife, Louise Hendren of Moberly, MO; his brother Chris (Mundi) Hendren of O’Fallon, MO; and his six children: Tiffany (James Ridling) Hendren of Saint Louis, MO, Nathaniel Hendren of O’Fallon, MO, Sara Laposa of O’Fallon, MO, Steven Hendren of Moberly, MO, Amy (Keyan) Paglialunga of Knoxville, TN, and Emily Hendren of Columbia, MO. He also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Heidi Antram, Khloe Laposa, Finley Laposa, Lucy Laposa, Ryan Gerst, Kinsley Hendren, Kiley Hendren, Everly Hendren, and Benjamin Paglialunga, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his brothers of the road.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Terry Hendren; his granddaughter, Bailey Laposa; his grandparents William and Frances Stuck, and William C. (Bill) and Eula Ruth Hendren; his uncle and aunt William “Buddy” and Nancy Stuck; his uncle and aunt William “Bill” and Sue Hendren; his aunt Nicki (Robert) Ritterbush; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Shirley Alonzo.
Funeral services will be held at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, with visitation beginning at 11:30 am until the time of service. Following the service, Jeffrey will be laid to rest in Huntsville City Cemetery. In honor of Jeffrey's dislike for formal attire, the family requests that those in attendance dress casually, preferably in jeans and motorcycle t-shirts, to celebrate his life in a manner befitting his spirit.
Jeffrey David Hendren will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
