Jeffrey L. Jarvis, resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus, Oklahoma.
On November 8, 1957, in Ogden, Utah Edwin and Janet (Nielsen) Jarvis celebrated the birth of their son, Jeffrey L. Jarvis.
Jeff grew up in Ogden, Utah and Madrid Spain. Upon graduation from high school he attended college before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in February 1977. During his time in the service he was stationed in Japan, as well as Korea. After four years of honorable service Jeff received an honorable discharge. Wanting to continue his service to his country he worked for civil service working as an air craft mechanic in Utah, and at Altus Air Force mechanic.
Jeff loved fishing, golfing, watching, t.v. and listening to music, he was playful and funny, he loved to help anyone that he could. He truly loved spending time with his family and playing Dominoes or as they called it "bones" with his best friend, Melvin Winston.
He was preceded in death by his father Edwin Jarvis, and his beloved wife, Janet Jarvis.
Left to honor Jeff's memory are his daughters, Jamie Phoenix and husband Andrew, Melanie Brown and Husband Matt, Carrie Cosby and fiancé Dean John Poolaw; mother, Janet Hill; brother, Curt Jarvis, sister, Jackie Langdon and husband Chuck; grandsons, Owen Phoenix and Gavin Phoenix; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and a host of friends.
The Jarvis family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home for a memorial visitation.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
