Jeffrey Lems, passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 59, in Ava, Missouri, after a difficult and long battle with appendiceal cancer. Born on July 10, 1965, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Jeff spent 38 years with Mindy. By choice he raised two daughters Bridgett & Tanya. They shared two sons, Jonathan, and Dakota. Twelve Amazing Grandchildren, Charleigh, Savannah, Cole, Christian, Kyler, Bridger, Kenneth, Lotus, Joslyn, Greyson, Avarie, and Gentry.
Jeff is survived by his Mother, Sharon Lems, Sister, Angie Jennings (David). Sister-in-law, Erin Lems.
Jeff was preceded in death by his Father, George Lems, brothers, Guy and David Lems, as well as his in-laws, Tom and Rosie Harris.
Jeff's educational journey began at West Lyon High School and continued as he earned a Business & Mechanic Degree from Iowa Lakes College. His passion for craftsmanship led him to the National Welding Inspection School in Burton, Texas, where he obtained his Pipeline Welding Inspection (CPWI+V) certification. Jeff's professional life was marked by over 30 years as a skilled Fabricator/Welder and as a respected National Pipeline Inspector for E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc.
Jeff found joy in motorcycles, his love for horses, time on the lake with his close friends and family. His hands were rarely still, as he loved to tinker with and rebuild small engines, including tractors, boats, motorcycles, and vehicles. He was known as a dedicated Mason and Shriner. At one time, he participated and had the honor to be the Vice President of the Cruisers where is gained life long friends.
Those who knew Jeff would describe him as wise, generous, and incredibly handy. His ability to solve problems and challenges was remarkable.
Jeff will be missed by Aunts, Uncles, Cousins many Nieces and Nephews, friends and co-workers.
Services will be Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:00am at Destination Church, 6401 Erin Avenue, Ava, Missouri 65608
A small luncheon will be held at the church after the service. There will be a private burial at a later date.
