Rosewood Heights:

Jeffrey A Nichols, 59 passed away on Friday, August 15,2025 at his home. He was born on September 3,1965 in Alton, the son of John "Nick" Nichols and the late Patricia "Pat" (Garrett) Nichols. He married Deidre "Deedee" Vore on September 11, 1993, in Alton and she survives. Jeff grew up in Fosterburg and attended Civic Memorial High School before beginning a long and dedicated career with Illinois American Water Company in Alton, where he worked as a pipefitter for 38 years.

Jeff was known for his sense of humor and his love of life. He enjoyed his horses, float trips, softball, dancing and never missed an opportunity to play a joke on friends and coworkers. He loved to BBQ and have a beer with a buddy.

Above all, Jeff loved his family. He found great joy coaching and cheering his son Mason Nichols on at football games and wrestling at Roxana High School. In recent years, though his health had slowed him down, Jeff treasured his days with his beloved doodle Hank.

Jeff will be remembered as someone who would help a friend with anything they needed. His sense of humor, laughter and generosity touched many lives. He is survived by his son Mason Nichols of Rosewood Heights, sisters Tami (Tim) Stalcup of Fosterburg, Lisa Guinnane of Ennis, MT, Carie (Gary) Scott of Fosterburg, Brothers Johnny (Linda) Scott of Bethalto, Eric Nichols of Alton, in laws Kay and Darrell Lindsey of Alton, Jeff and Marsha Vore of Bethalto. Many nieces and Nephews and extended family.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested Roxana Wrestling, 401 Chaffer Avenue, Roxana Illinois, 62084 or the Legendary Mustang Sanctuary in Alhambra, Illinois.
