Jeffrey Ockuly

Jeffrey 'Jeff' Eugene Ockuly, 68 years old of Jacksonville NC passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025.
Born in Pensacola, Florida January 15, 1957, Jeff moved with his family to Jacksonville when he was 8 years old and since then had always called Jacksonville his home. After graduating from Jacksonville Senior High School in 1975, he served his country as an Airman in the USAF and after an honorable discharge attended UNC Wilmington. He worked for the family business, Ockuly Realty Company, for several years before starting his own business, J & O Painting, which he served the community for 35 years.
Jeff had a love for cats. Over the years he adopted many cats into hishome and for 16 years he volunteered with Operation Topcat that help stray and feral cats in the area. Over the years Jeff fostered over 160 cats, many of which were able to be adopted.
He is survived by his mother, Nora Ockuly, sister Linda Ockuly Horton, her husband, Ken, and his nieces, Stephanie Ducan and Melissa Horton, all of Chesapeake VA. He is predeceased by his father, Eugene 'Gene' Ockuly and his brother, Anthony 'Tony' Ockuly.
Jeff will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery. Date to be determined.
