Jeffrey Lee Parkison

Jeff, age 62, passed away peacefully at home on June 15th, 2025.
Jeff was born to Alice and Cary Parkison on March 16th, 1963, in Irving, TX. Shortly after his birth, Jeff and his family returned to Kansas City, where he lived out the rest of his life. Jeff started dating the love of his life, Lori, when they were 17 years old. They got married June 4th, 1988. They had two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and LeeAnn, who they devoted all their time and hard work toward.
Jeff graduated from Washington High School and worked for the Unified Government of Kansas City, Kansas for 32 years until his retirement in September 2023.
Jeff loved spending time outdoors, whether that be years of going to the lake, riding motorcycles, curating the perfect yard or enjoying his pool. He enjoyed going on walks while listening to his worship music, spending time at the YMCA, and working on his new golf game at Sunflower Hills. Jeff also loved cheering on the Jayhawks, Chiefs, and Royals.
Jeff was the definition of dependable - the rock of his family, the one who could build, fix, or figure out anything. As a skilled carpenter and the handiest guy you'd ever meet, there was nothing he couldn't do.
But beyond all his talents, what made him truly special was his deep, unwavering love for his family. He adored his grandkids more than anything, lighting up every time they walked into the room. He shared great stories, jokes, and his philosophical quote, "it's all good." He never missed a chance to say "love you" - his signature goodbye to friends and family.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years and love of his life for 44 years, Lori Warford Parkison; his daughters, Jennifer Lichtenberger (Joey) and LeeAnn Witt (Todd); his cherished grandchildren, Jozlynn, Jordan, Jaelynn, T.J., and Edward; his father, Cary Parkison, siblings Danny Parkison (Stephanie) and Angie Smart (Jeff); and mother-in-law, Carol Warford. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Parkison, and father-in-law, James Warford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his favorite place of worship, Church of the Resurrection Leawood 13720 Roe Ave. A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. and a service at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2nd at Lenexa Baptist Church, 15320 W. 87th Street Parkway, Lenexa, KS. A reception will follow at George Meyn Center, 126 State Ave., Bonner Springs, KS.
