In Loving Memory

Nancy Elisabeth Parkison

Nancy Elisabeth Parkison, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this world on October 7, 2025, in Gillette, WY. Born on December 23, 1948, Sheridan, WY. Nancy’s life was filled with love, kindness, and a deep commitment to her family and faith.

On October 18, 1969, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Sheridan, Nancy married the love of her life, Rollie G. Parkison. Their union was marked by unwavering love, faith, and devotion as they built a beautiful family together. They were blessed with two sons:

- William (Dixie) Parkison of Alliance, NE: granddaughter Kyler (Danny) Vallejo of Chadron, NE, and their children; Daniel, Luka, and Kova; and granddaughter Sutten Parkison of Alliance, NE.

- Todd Parkison of Gillette, WY, and granddaughter Cooper Parkison of Tucson, AZ, who filled her heart with pride and joy.

Nancy was raised in a loving home in Dayton, WY, by her parents, Bill and Carley Benedict, alongside her siblings Peggy Benedict (Robert Dorsey) of Denver, CO; Sally Benedict-Leazenby of Lockwood, MO; Debbie Strange of Green River, WY; Thomas (Vicki) Benedict of Sheridan, WY; and Mary (Dave) Cermak of Apple Valley, MN. She was also deeply devoted to her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews-each of whom held a special place in her heart. Every laughter-filled gathering and shared story became a treasured memory she carried with her always.

Nancy attended Tongue River High School, graduating in 1967, and went on to study at the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD. Throughout her life, Nancy embraced many roles and lived by the values of service and community. She worked as a receptionist at The Sheridan Press newspaper, and her culinary talents shone as a baker at the Ranch house in Ranchester, WY. Nancy was known for her many delicious pies and cookies, but she was arguably most famous for her homemade cinnamon rolls. She nurtured young minds as a library aide at both Tongue River High School and Lakeview Elementary, and she lovingly serves as Parish Administrator at Holy Trinity episcopal Church in Gillette.

Nancy’s love for reading, gardening, baking, and crocheting reflected her gentle spirit. She found immense joy in being surrounded by family, embracing each moment with love and laughter, and creating an atmosphere of warmth that will be forever missed. Her passion for life was matched only by her devotion to her faith. A dedicated member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Nancy was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on June 23, 1949, and January 29, 1961, respectively – marking meaningful milestones in her spiritual journey.

Nancy now joins her beloved grandparents, Frank and Ica Benedict and Edward and Margaret Whitney; her parents, Bill and Carley Benedict; her parents-in-law, Gail and Claudia Parkison; and her brothers-in-law, Don Strange and John Leazenby, in eternal rest. Their spirits surely welcome her with open arms, as her legacy of love and compassion continues to shine through the lives she touched.

As we remember Nancy, may we carry forward her kindness and generosity-sharing smiles, lending helping hands, and creating ripples of love within our communities. Her cherished memory will live on through her family, in the warmth of their hearts, and in the stories shared among family and friends. Nancy Elisabeth Parkison will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
