Jeffrey Dudley Rietschel, beloved husband, dad, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend of Spring Grove, IL passed away unexpectedly at the age of 57 on March 2, 2023. He was born on February 13, 1966, in Chicago, IL, to Harry Dudley and Carol Ann (Struz) Rietschel and married his loving wife Kathy Miller on May 25, 2018.
Jeff grew up in Antioch and could usually be found causing trouble on a motorbike, boat or snowmobile somewhere on 'the chain.' Always ready for an adventure, he hit the sales force and built a successful career, notably starting his own company, Automation Werks, Inc. in 2020 in which he poured his time, focus, energy, and passion. As he did in all things.
Jeff was so full of life, rarely sitting down, wanting to do everything to its fullest. He was happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends. From the moment you met him, he showed genuine interest in you and welcomed you with the biggest and most generous heart. He became friends with everyone he met. It was impossible to not be drawn to Jeff.
Always an involved father, he filled his life with proud moments around the Sunday dinner table, in crowded RVs, college tailgate lots, and on the sidelines of his children's many activities. He was the perfect host, the life of the party and was happy to offer you a 'Jeff drink'.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife Kathy; his children Lauren Rietschel, Lindsey (Adam) Pittser, Chad Rietschel, Janelle Rietschel, Brett Rietschel, Grant Miller, Carter Miller, Kasey Miller; his grandchildren Jayden and Kamden; his mother: Carol Rietschel and stepmother Judy Rietschel; his siblings: Lisa (Erin Elliott) Rietschel, Jake (Stacy) Rietschel, and stepsiblings: Julie, Matt and Jason; niece: Maddie Rietschel; nephews: Casey and Brady Rietschel.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held at the Justen's Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL, on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 4- 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, March 10, 2023, 10:30 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2118 Main Street Road, Spring Grove, IL. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
