Jeffrey Rodriguez, affectionately known as JRod, passed away on February 8, 2024, in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Born on March 17, 1972, in Lorain, Ohio, he graduated from Southview High School. Jeff went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmaceutical studies at the Ohio State University, where he graduated in 2000. His career as a pharmacist traversed roles as Assistant Manager or Acting Manager at CVS and Kroger pharmacies. Jeff was an avid gamer and collector of comic books (especially X-Men), movies, action figures, music, and he was particularly passionate about Prince and his music. He was a huge Buckeye fan and enjoyed many years as a season ticket holder; and a long-time Cowboys fan. Jeff had a hearty laugh that was always shared along with his humorous and silly text messages.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jose V. Rodriguez. Jeff is survived by his devoted partner David Todd of 23 years; his loving mother Lydia E. (nee Delgado) Rodriguez; and siblings, Angela (nee Ortiz) (David) Thatcher, of Columbus, Daniel Rodriguez, Annette Aponte, of Lorain, Jose V. Rodriguez of Huntington Indiana, Sgt. Juan "Rick" Rodriguez of Texas; numerous aunts and uncles. Jeff was especially close to his niece Mia of Columbus, and deeply cared about his other nieces and nephews as well. Friends and family may call Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, followed by a short memorial service at O. R. Woodyard Funeral Home, 1346 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio. A Memorial Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel and interment of cremains at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, both in Lorain, Ohio will be held at a future date.
Jeff's family is thankful for the loving care and support of the staff at Riverside MICU and Kobacker House. Jeff was passionate about pet adoption and the loving care that Gigi's Shelter gives to the neglected and abused pets. Please consider a memorial contribution in Jeff's memory to Gigi's Pet Adoption in Columbus, https://gigis.org/memorial-gifts or Kobacker House. Jeff will be profoundly missed but his memory will continue in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

I worked with Jeff for maybe a year before he was transferred to another location. I remember how pleased he was to move to Grove City and that I was a fellow Grove City resident. He always talked about restaurants and things to do there. For that reason, he invited me to do things with him. Regretfully, I was so tied up with my family and work that I never took him up on the offer. It saddens me so much and I will miss our little chats we had here and there.
One cute memory I have is that he loved Valentines Day so much. So, he found a huge plastic tub, placed it on top of the mini fridge in the pharmacy and filled it with three grocery bags full of Valentine candy. We continued to use that tub for candy for more than a year. Though I could have gotten to know him more, I´m grateful to have know the Jeff I knew. Sending my condolences to all of his loved ones. May you feel peace and comfort during this time.
