Jeffrey Shawn Schoonover, age 50, of Adrian, MI, passed away unexpectedly, July 27, 2025 at home. He was born October 16, 1974, in Adrian, MI, the son of Moody and Mary L. (Richards) Schoonover. On October 14, 2023 he married Kristen Joy Johnson in Brooklyn, MI and she survives.
Jeff was a graduate of Onsted High School, Class of 1993. He was a member of the Onsted High School Marching Band, playing the trombone. Jeff was employed with Uckele Health & Nutrition, Adrian, Michigan. He was a big sports fan, especially local high school football and the Los Angeles Lakers. Jeff loved fish, of which he had nine tanks, his new puppy, Haddonfield and three cats, Eerie, Wednesday, and October. His favorite holiday was Halloween.
In addition to his wife, Kristen, he is survived by; his father, Moody Schoonover; sister, Mitzi (David) Groves; brothers, Scott (Raquel), Stacy (Shandra), Jason (Jodi), John; and 25 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents; and his beloved Labrador/German Shepherd mix, "Bo".
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan.
Visitataton will also take place Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service.
