Jeffrey S. Smith, 70, of Quarryville, PA went to be with Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2025, after a long illness. He is preceded in death by daughter, Sheri Smith; parents Leon and June (Sizemore) Smith; sister, Sandy Thomas; and brother, Gerald (Jerry) Smith.
Jeffrey, (also known as Steve) is survived by wife, Kathy (Vena) Smith; son, Jeffrey Smith Il of North East, MD; brothers, Leon (Smitty) (Peggy) Smith of Lubbock, TX; Don (Maureen) of Sebring, FL; Scott (Sharon) Smith of Beavercreek, OH; and sister, Lisa (Dave) Platt of Fayetteville, WV. Jeffrey was a loving grandfather to three beautiful grandchildren, Hailey, Declan and Callen. His love of family continued with many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey was a Vietnam-era Army veteran and was stationed in Korea. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Jeffrey worked 34 years at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
He served as Asbestos Removal Team Supervisor, advising Garrison and tenants on asbestos removal, lead abatement and mold remediation. He also served as a Construction Representative, reviewing construction plans and specifications and provided input from design phase to contract approval. For many years, Jeffrey enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, taking scenic rides with family and friends. When he was not on the road, he scheduled numerous deep sea fishing trips out of Solomons Island.
Jeffrey was a friend to everyone he met and was always there to help others. enjoyed playing practical jokes and hanging out with friends at the bar. This world lost an incredibly beautiful person. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Jeffery, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow war veteran.
