Jeffrey Smith Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mabel L. Jones. Jeffrey was raised and educated in Medford, MA. In high school, he played basketball and won many trophies. He went on to earn an Associate in Science from Bunker Hill Community College and a Master of Arts from Leslie University in Cambridge, MA.
Jeffrey loved the Lord. He read his Bible daily and prayed not only for himself but also for others. Jeffrey became a deacon at West Medford Baptist Church, where he visited the sick, prayed with them, and administered communion. Jeffrey was a loving brother, a good friend, always a shoulder to cry on, and he had a listening ear. Jeff was also kind. From time to time, he would visit the West Medford Community Center and purchase pizzas for all the seniors.
Jeff leaves behind his sisters, Marilyn Smith from Medford, MA, and Karen Gumbs from Anguilla, BWI; his nephews and one niece, Joshua Smith, Robert Jones, and Trinnice Jones; and his great-nephews, Tristan Jones and Maxwell Jones, along with a host of cousins and friends. He will be truly missed.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Noon. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the church, prior to the service, from 10 to Noon. Interment will be privately held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home of Medford. Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Jeffrey Smith. This has been quite a shock for us. We had been trying to reach Jeff for awhile with no response. We were afraid something was wrong, but not this.
Jeff was a warm and loving person and we are glad to have known him and have him in our lives as a dear friend. Jeff was a die-hard Patriots fan and I can just hear him saying, `How About those Pat´s´! We´ll miss you! Rest in the Lord!

Dear Jeff´s Family,
I was so very sorry to hear of Jeff´s passing. I had the privilege of knowing him years ago in high school, and he was always someone I remembered for his kindness, warmth, and genuine caring nature. He had a way of making people feel at ease, and that is something that has stayed with me over the years.
Please know that Jeff made a lasting impression on those who knew him, and he will be remembered with great fondness. My heartfelt condolences are with you during this difficult time. I hope you find comfort in the love and memories shared by so many whose lives he touched.

Jeff always made me and everyone around him feel seen and always knew you by your first name. I will take from him the power of prayer, the ability to smile through my pain, staying my authentic self and being a genuine person. He will be missed dearly.
