Mr. Jeffrey Watson Thore

Jeffrey Watson Thore, 62, of Columbia, died Saturday, October 14, 2023. Born August 18, 1961, in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Pete Andrew Thore and Faye Watson Thore.
Mr. Thore attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina and later earned his associate degree in paralegal studies from Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina, and his bachelor's degree from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina. He was raised with traditional southern values, and he considered being a devoted husband and loving father his greatest accomplishment. He loved listening to music, especially the 70's genre. Mr. Thore enjoyed spending his spare time watching sports. Duke University Basketball, LA Dodgers Baseball, and Sunday afternoon final rounds of PGA Golf were his favorites. Mr. Thore was a member of Shandon Baptist Church, but previously attended North Trenholm Baptist Church where he was active in Sunday school and assisted in the nursery when his boys were small. He loved animals, adopting dogs from local shelters and devoting his resources to the humane treatment of animals.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Gina Morris Thore, his two sons, Cameron Peter Thore and Dillard Watson Thore, as well as many nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Ed Thore.
The memorial service for Mr. Thore will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, October 25th at North Trenholm Baptist Church, 6515 N Trenholm Rd, Columbia, SC 29206. A private committal
service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday, October 24th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223.
