Jeffrey Wyand Obituary
Jeffrey was a graduate of St. John's Academy and Seton Catholic Central in Plattsburgh. He had a vibrant and inspirational presence. Everyone that was fortunate enough to have known him will miss his infectious smile. His initial battle with cancer was the inspiration for the Biking for Miracles Charity Run for the Vermont Children's Hospital, an annual motorcycle ride fundraiser. He was a loving brother, son and friend.
Jeffrey is survived by his parents, Thomas and Diane Wyand of Plattsburgh; a brother, T.J. Wyand of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister and her fiancee, Stephanie Wyand and Joseph Hirt of New York City; his paternal grandparents, Clifford and Gerri Wyand; his uncles and aunts, David and Mary Kaye, Douglas and Gail, Daniel and Mary Kay, Charles and Mary Ann, Chip and Cathy, James and Melanie, Robert and Leslie, Mark, Mary and Paul, Kathleen and Derek Pratt, Terri and Hans Lefebvre and Frank and Lisa Felicelli. He is also survived by 31 cousins.
Jeffrey was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Tony and Gina Moscarella; and his Aunt Sue Stancill.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church in Plattsburgh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jeffrey's memory may be made to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, P.O. Box 576, Waterbury, Vt. 05676, or to Vermont Children's Hospital c/o Development Office, 111 Colchester Ave., Burlington, Vt., 05401.

It has taken me several days to respond to your loss. Everytime I hear of one of God's children passing I am so terribly saddened and once more have such a recurring sense of loss. My husband and I lost our son Ricky (2) in 1992. We know what you are going through, there are no words to express what we feel when we lose a child. Wayne and I feel blessed we had Ricky, he truly was a wonderful son and feel God put him on earth for a purpose and that was to make people happy and feel loved. He had that little knack. Jeffrey sounds like he also had that little trait of making one feel good about themselves. Wayne and I use to see Jeffrey at North End and were always amazed on how positive he was when he was so sick. We wish we could have known him. What a special gift he is. You'll have wonderful memories as we do and think of them daily. There is a rough road ahead but Jeffrey will still give you comfort. Embrace each day and let God, family and friends help. My husband and I were in Plattsburg this past June to attend the graduation of our neice, Maura Spilman. While waiting for the ceremony to begin we were paging through the program and reading the list of schools the graduates were planning to attend. Immediately Florida Gulf Coast University caught our attention---Jeffrey's choice, which intrigued us as it is close by where we live. I asked about him and eventually Maura introduced us. I cannot tell you what a charming young man we met that special day and I especially remember that 100 watt smile. You could just tell that this was a "young man with a mission" and we were so impressed by his obvious enthusiasm. It's funny how sometimes these isolated events just stick in your mind---meeting your Jeff did just that. We were so very sorry to hear of Jeff's passing and wanted you to know that your entire family is in our prayers and thoughts. May God hold all of you in the palm of His hand.
