Jeneale Casaday Barnes passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after courageously facing an illness. She was born on June 26, 1937, in Price, Utah, to William Everton Casaday Jr and Winona "Mickie" Casaday. Jeneale had a deep love for music. She performed in productions of The Sound of Music and The Mikado in Oakland, California, and, along with her four sisters, gave concerts throughout Utah. Their Christmas performances became cherished community traditions that drew many who delighted in their harmony and talent. In addition to her music, Jeneale enjoyed golfing with family and friends, and was a good bowler and loved participating in bowling leagues with family. She found great joy in being involved in her children's lives. She especially loved cheering on her boys in sports and often volunteered as the scorekeeper at their baseball games. Throughout her life, Jeneale's family was her anchor. She married three times and was blessed with five children. With George Houle, she welcomed her daughter Miriam; with Dennis Carlson, her children Carlene, Kenneth, and Curtis; and with Joseph Barnes, her son David. She remained close to her siblings and treasured their time together, especially the annual trips with her sisters to Lava Hot Springs. Jeneale was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was a source of strength in times of trial. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mickie Casaday; her daughter, Carlene Campbell; her son, Curtis Carlson; and her son-in-law, Charlie Pulham. She is survived by her siblings Bill and Marilyn Casaday, Linda Machen, Colleen and Jerry Hansen, Dennis and Marilyn Casaday, Sheri-Lyn and Steve Young, and Shanon and Scott Huish. She is also survived by her children Miriam Pulham, Kenneth and Janelle Carlson, Curtis' wife Susan Carlson, and David and Toni Carlson, along with 30 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandkids, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Jeneale will be remembered for her music, her laughter, her faith, and her love of family. She will be deeply missed, but her family finds peace in knowing she is no longer suffering and is joyfully reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. A viewing will be held Saturday August 23rd from 9:45 am to 10:45 am, followed by the funeral at 11 am. They both will be at 500 S 600 W, Orem, Ut. The internment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 2:30.

Yesterday

Sending lots of love from CO to the whole family. I have so many memories of Jeneale, especially when we cousins would all get together for our mom's singing practices, performances, and especially family reunions and Christmas parties. May you rest and find peace Jeneale. <3
