Jennie Pearl Ingram, 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2024, after a short illness.
Jennie was born March 15, 1931, to the late Leonzo and Sadie Gladys Ingram.
Jennie was born and lived most of her life in Ellendale, Delaware. She graduated from Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Upon returning to Ellendale Jennie worked numerous years at Paramount and ConAgra Poultry Plants. Later, she worked as a childcare assistant at the Ellendale Daycare Center and eventually oversaw the daycare center. After that, she worked at the Slaughter Neck Daycare Center as a childcare assistant. She was also a foster grandparent at H. O. Brittingham School in Milton, Delaware. She was always happy in later years when her former daycare students and foster grandchildren would greet her and reminisce about their time together.
Jennie was the second born of seven siblings. She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Emanuel Ingram; her sisters, Thelma Ingram, Gladys Marie Rivera, and Charlotte Jackson; and her brother, Leonzo "Lee" Ingram, Jr.
Jennie is survived by her sister, Sylvia Norwood of Lewes, DE (who has been her caregiver for many years); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Honorable mentions go to the Weatherlys, the Harmons, and Agnes Bryant, whom she was very close to.
