JENNIE JOSEPHINE MOZDZEN
100, of Deford died Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. She was born September 24, 1921 at home in Deford to Joseph and Nellie (Polczak) Polheber. She married Adolph John Mozdzen on January 11, 1943 in Cass City. He died April 29, 1988.
During World War II, Jennie was employed as a "Rosie the Riveter". She worked with Adolph on their dairy farm and at General Gable for ten years. She was a life-long member of St. Michael Parish of Wilmot and The Red Hat Society which she attended with her friend, Julie Klein. Jennie enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, crocheting afghans, working on various craft projects, and reading Danielle Steele books. She traveled on various bus trips and, in 1985, she took the "trip of her lifetime" to Israel.
Jennie is survived by her children: Ronald (Marcia) Mozden of Deford, Marge Mozden of Deford, Gerald (Shelley) Mozden of Evart, Edward (Karen) Mozden of Deford, Mark (Julie) Mozdzen of Deford, Julie (Brian) Dasinger of Riverview, FL; daughter-in-law, Jeri Mozdzen of Lapeer; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; son, Alvin Mozdzen; grandson, Jacob Mozdzen; infant brother and three sisters.
Funeral held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with Deacon David Gillespie officiating. Interment in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Wilmot. Pallbearers for Jennie will be: Craig Mozdzen, Tim Mozden, Brandon Witherspoon, Travis Mozden, Jordon Mozdzen, Joshua Mozden. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday May 9, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City
10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City
