Jennie Thiu Yep, a beacon of love and joy who graced the world with her presence, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, in Baltimore, MD, due to natural causes. Born on July 2, 1939, in Canton, China, Jennie's life journey took her across the world, eventually establishing deep roots in Baltimore, where she became a cherished member of her community.
Jennie's life was marked by her unwavering passion and spirited nature, qualities that shone brightly in every endeavor she pursued. After graduating from Western High School in Baltimore, MD, Jennie furthered her education by attending community college, where she honed her skills that would later contribute to a diverse professional life. She embarked on a career path that saw her embrace roles as a cashier, administrative assistant, hostess, and travel agent, each position benefiting from her generous spirit and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
An embodiment of hospitality, Jennie found joy in hosting and organizing parties and events, her home often filled with laughter and conversation. Her interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality, with a love for tennis, beach outings, card games, and casino visits. Travel was another passion, allowing Jennie to explore new places and create lasting memories with her loved ones.
Family time was the cornerstone of Jennie's world. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Samuel Yep, and together they nurtured a family built on love and respect. Jennie's legacy lives on through her children: Raymond Yep and his wife Jeannie, Gregory Yep and his wife Helen, Karen Liu and her husband Kenneth, and Pamela Jee and her husband Thomas. She was a cherished grandmother to Rebecca Yep, Rachel Yep, Brandon Yep, Timothy Yep, Amanda Yep, Joshua Liu, Ryan Jee, and Lauren Jee. Her role as a great grandmother to Miles Yep-Sindall brought her immense pride and happiness, as did her bond with her grandchildren-in-law, Luke Sindall and Jaren Herald.

Viewing will be Sunday, August 18th, from 1-3 and 5-7pm at Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home in Ellicott CIty. A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, August 19th, 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville. After the burial, attendees are invited to a Wake in Wheaton/Silver Spring.
