Still think of John Yep, it was too soon. My sympathy to his family and friends.

John was a Friend of Knight Memorial Library in Providence. He would bring delicious baked goods to sell at our monthly book sales. What a gentle soul.

John was a member of the Friends of Knight Memorial Library and he had a garden plot at Peace and Plenty Community Garden, both in Providence.
He is remembered as "a gentle soul", "a wonderful person and generous soul" and " a sweet kind, a gentle man with a good heart and soul".
Another person wrote. "He was one of the most considerate people I knew, a gentle soul who was an avid bike rider and advocate for a saner world."
He helped the Friends Group at Knight set up the BOOK SALE, which raised thousands of dollars for the library, and he was an accomplished cook who often donated his culinary skills to various events the Friends group produced at Knight.
in his community garden plot, some of the hardier plants, like kale, have so far survived the winter.
His kale will go out on the sidewalk Free Stand the garden has created to share garden produce with the community.
John contributed time to the garden to advance specific permaculture and rewilding goals.
He used the mound method of planting in his plot. For those of you who may not know, mound gardening is, as it sounds, literally growing in a pile of soil. The mound creates a small-scale raised bed for cultivating plants and seeds. It's especially good for root crops requiring loose soil and space below ground. For those with small gardens, it's a great way to optimize space.
Many fond memories are held of John. His gentle spirit lives on.
He will be missed.

Very sad to hear of John´s passing. He was a friend when we were just out of college and later I met him at Mt. Hope Community Center. He was kind and smart and creative. He is missed. My sympathy to his family and friends.

Johnny Yep was one of the kindest and calmest people I've known. So, his demeanor was often a sharp contrast to many others in the frenetic television business.
I don't ever remember seeing him have a bad day and his grace was contagious, which is a great legacy to leave. His final words to me many years ago came in an email on his last day at Channel 12. Four words, without explanation. "Don't let them win."
He didn’t define "them," and there were a lot “thems” to battle. I certainly believe I knew what he meant and I never forgot those words.
I wish I could be there to say goodbye to Johnny, but I pray he knows that I never forgot him, his grace or that final message. When I finally take up the art of fly fishing, which fit Johnny's demeanor so well, I will think of him with every cast.
