Jennifer Hestand of Dallas was taken by our Lord on January 16, 2022, in Grapevine, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Crossroads Church with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Jennifer was born in Midland, Texas to Doug and Patsy Hestand on January 17, 1977. Jennifer graduated from Permian High School in Odessa. Jennifer graduated from UT Arlington with a BSN in nursing. Moving on to her MSN of CRNA from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. Jennifer was an instructor to many nursing students at Texas Women’s University in both clinical and didactic settings for 3 years. In 2017, Jennifer became an Assistant Professor in the Simulation Center and Didactic programs at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. Jennifer helped to establish rotation clinical cycle for CRNA students in Odessa and various other states.
As an assistant professor, Jennifer decided to accomplish her overall goal of being a professor and obtaining her Doctor of Education, a UNT in Denton, Texas. In 2021, Jennifer co-wrote with Tito D. Tubog, and was published in the AANA Journal, and the Journal of Peri Anesthesia Nursing and Prospero.
Jennifer was an accomplished marathon runner. She ran in Las Vegas, Mesa Arizona, Seattle Washington, and multiple in Texas.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard, and Inez Hestand, and Aline and Griff Griffis; aunt, Kaye Letcher; and uncle, Lonnie Hestand.
Jennifer is survived by her parents, Doug, and Patsy Hestand; brother, Jason, and wife Mirna Hestand; nephews, Ryan Calderon, Skylar Hestand, and Noah Hestand; as well as her beloved Mac and Gatsby.
