Jere Gaines Nunn, 88, died October 2, 2025.

Born January 30, 1937, in Monroe, GA, Jere was a son of the late Elsie Malcom Nunn and Clyde Gaines Nunn. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claire Allgood Nunn in 1998; son-in-law, Robert Glenn Brannon; brother, Thomas Malcom Nunn. Jere is survived by wife of twenty- five years, Dianne Fields Nunn.

Jere retired after a career in electrical and plumbing sales and was also a representative of WMSL for many years. He was a faithful member of Prince Avenue Baptist for over seventy years, where he served as a deacon and on many committees. He was especially proud to serve on the committee to begin Prince Avenue Christian School. Jere also proudly served in the United States Army and was an Amry Reservist for ten years.

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 2:30pm at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, with Rev. David Shiver and Dr. Terry Wardlaw officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at noon Sunday at the funeral home.

Jere’s survivors also include his children, Kimily Nunn Brannon, Michael David (Karen) Nunn, Terry (Sara) Wardlaw and Gretchen (Rick) Rodriguez; eleven grandchildren, Allyson (Devan) Schwartz, Tyler (Kristen) Brannon, Christopher Nunn, Georgia Nunn, Isaiah Wardlaw, Elijah Wardlaw, Lois Wardlaw, Joshua Wardlaw, Caleb Wardlaw, Annaston Rodriguez and Leah Rodriguez; three great grandchildren, Gaines Robert Brannon, Ford James Brannon and Elias Robert Schwartz.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the following ministries dear to his heart:

• Prince Avenue Christian School Building Fund

• Gideon Bible Society

• Wycliffe Bible Translators
