Jeremy Jaz Buie departed this life on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the age of 29. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Jeremy was a graduate of St. Augustine High School and continued his studies at Delgado Community College. He was employed as a Manager with ACE Parking. Jeremy enjoyed playing baseball, writing songs and rapping. Beloved son of Evelyn Buie and Stanley (Nicole) Buie, Sr. Loving brother of Stanley (Felicity) Buie, Jr. of San Antonio, TX. Uncle of Jayden and Aubrey Buie of San Antonio, TX. Grandson of Rennette Simms, and the late Paul Simms, Halla Minor, Sr. and Beatrice A. Minor. Nephew of James Minor of Los Angeles, CA, Carroll (Frances) Minor, Glen Floyd (Cynthia) of Baton Rouge, LA, Mary Minor of Woodville, MS, Beverly Minor of Vienna, Austria, Gwendolyn (Trevas) Samuel of Baker, LA, Anita (Willie) Smoot, Marva (Denise) Lockett of Baton Rouge, LA, and the late Donald Arbuthnot, William Minor, Halla Minor, Jr., and Samuel B. Minor II. Godson of Harold and Rose Phelps. Dear friend of Ariel Payton. His idol was the late Idol Rashad Buie. Jeremy is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street Gretna, LA on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Neal Bernard, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor. Jaz touched so many lives including mine ,in the very best way. I am so grateful I got the chance to know him and I was so grateful to be his friend, he always challenged me to think deeper and wiser! Wish I could talk to him more!! He will truly be missed. My condolences to the family! You all raised an incredibly talented and wise man!
