A loving grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and dear friend, Jerlean Glover Shular, entered eternal rest on October 24, 2025, just one day after celebrating her 94th birthday.
She was born on October 23, 1931, in Cuero, Texas, to the late Emmitt Glover and Bertha Wilson. Jerlean was a loving and devoted woman, a faithful military wife until the passing of her beloved husband on October 26, 2017. Together, they shared a beautiful union of over 50 years.
A lifelong member of New Birth Church, Jerlean served faithfully as Head Usher for more than 40 years. She was also a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Her dedication to faith and service touched the lives of many.
Jerlean was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a talented seamstress. Her favorite color was pastel pink, which perfectly reflected her gentle and graceful spirit. She was also a successful entrepreneur, operating her own in-home daycare for 40 years until her retirement - nurturing and caring for countless children who adored her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her grandchildren: Corey Shular, Tanya Ball (Darryl), and Leslie Shular; great-grandchildren: Shantel Wiltz (Roderic), Charity Sanders, Jawon Whisenhunt, Corey Shular Jr., and Jadon Shular; and great-great-grandchildren: Harmony Wiltz, Melody Wiltz, and Cadence Wiltz.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband: Collins Lewis Shular, her beloved step-son: Thomas J. Shular, and five siblings: Charles A. Glover, Emmitt Glover, Alvin Glover, Ruby Glover, and Joyce Viola.
She is also survived by her nieces: Patricia Glover Taylor, Christine Glover Barfield (Harold), Alvinia Major Briday Harris; nephews: Emmitt D. Glover (Patricia Williams), Rev. Terry W. Glover (Lisa), and Rev. Briscoe Blackwell; along with numerous other close relatives and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
Jerlean's life was a shining example of love, faith, and service - a legacy that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
