Jerry Lorenz was born on August 19, 1934, in St. Louis, MO. He passed away August 28, 2024, shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday. He most recently resided in Lone Oak, TX, where he embraced the joys of rural life. A devoted family man, Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Lorenz, and his daughter Valerie Wood, son Scott Lorenz and wife Elizabeth, and his grandchildren in which he took great pride in, Aaron and Amanda Lorenz, and Sydney and Zachary Wood. He is also survived by his siblings, Jane Shields, Carol Crites and husband Fred, Nancy Nickolotsky and husband Terry, and Gordon Lorenz and wife Ginny.
He is preceded in death by his sister Arlene Cawood.
During his service in the US Army, Jerry was stationed in Hawaii, an experience he cherished throughout his life. After retiring from Texas Instruments, he dedicated himself to ranching, where he found purpose and fulfillment. Jerry had a passion for the outdoors, often spending his days fishing and caring for his land and cattle. His love for country music, particularly the classic hits, reflected his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and a rural lifestyle.
A loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, Jerry enjoyed supporting his favorite teams. Jerry's legacy of hard work, love for family, and appreciation for the great outdoors will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Goodbye Jerry, I love you. We shared much of our lives together through common interests (building model airplanes, gymnastics, working at the grocery store, serving in the military, sharing an apartment after we moved out of the house. I can't say more now, I have too many tears in my eyes. See you soon. Your brother, Gordon.
