Jerolyn Webb Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Iles Norwalk Chapel on Nov. 20, 2025.
Jerolyn Kay Webb was welcomed into the world by her parents Clarence and Irene Sundgren on January 15, 1942. And from that moment, Jeri embraced life with grace and quiet determination, achieving more than many of us ever even hope to achieve during our short time on earth.
Jeri was raised in Boone, Iowa by her mother and step-father, Carl Dixson and her family grew to include 3 sisters: Carla, Carleene, ZoeAnne, and her brother, Charlie. As the oldest child, Jeri developed and honed her "mothering" skills due to the long hours her parents worked. And this is when she discovered the power of love. She took this power with her, into her life forevermore, and continued to love fiercely for the rest of her life.
At age 14, while at a dance party, Jeri met the love of her life, Ted C. Webb. She strategically played a "spin the bottle" game so that her spin would stop on Ted. And the rest is history. They were married 4 years later, and remained completely devoted to each other for the next 64 years, until Ted's passing on December 2024. During their time together, they provided their four children: Susan, Kathy, Teddy, and Patrick the most idyllic of childhoods-traveling across the country every year to vacation by the oceans and mountain ranges of the United States; sometimes sleeping in tents, or "under the stars" always saving every penny to make the vacation last a day or two more.
When they became empty-nesters, Ted and Jeri took travel to a whole new level, and began traveling internationally-exploring 71 different countries together. Jeri's love of adventure and travel was surpassed only by the love and special relationships she had with her husband, each child, each grandchild, and each great-grandchild.
Jeri felt that love and hard work were the keys to a successful life. She began at age 18 working in the insurance industry as a secretary at Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and worked her way up to the title of Executive Vice President of Administration at Broker's Clearing House Insurance until her retirement. She was known as the first to arrive at work every day, and the last to leave. Her work ethic has had a profound effect on her loved ones, and has filtered down to her children and grandchildren who try to emulate her dedication. Jeri was truly remarkable.
Jeri had a deep appreciation for nature and its beauty. She instilled in her children the importance of finding joy in the simple things, like a vibrant flower or beautiful sunset. Jeri's legacy is one of love, kindness, and adventure and she will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched.
Jeri is survived by her 4 children: Susan Volkamer (Mark), Kathy Titus, Ted Webb (Shari), and Patrick Webb (Melanie); 7 grandchildren: Melissa Sheber (Megan), Julia Sheber, Ella Titus, Charlie Titus, Reece Webb, Samantha Webb, Chandler Webb, and Hayden Webb; great-grandchildren: Cole, Ilya, Ruthie, George, Lucius, Felix, and Zepplin; her sister, ZoeAnne; her brother, Charlie; and brother-in-law Bill Webb (Joan).
Jeri's life will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Iles Norwalk Chapel, with visitation 10-11 a.m. and her funeral at 11 a.m. Online condolences are welcome and the service will be livestreamed on her obituary page at www.IlesCares.com.
