It is with a heavy heart that we share Jerome Andres has joined the heavenly angels.
Jerome Frank Andres, 95, of Auburndale, WI, passed Monday, August 19, 2024, surrounded by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville, where the visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will officiate. www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jerome was a strong but gentle man. He farmed his entire life until retiring in 1988. He and Helen continued to do the "heifer chores" for a number of years after retiring. It kept them busy and gave them a purpose each day. Some would say he farmed until he took his last breath. He was always dreaming about farming in his sleep.
Jerome married Helen F. Karl, June 14, 1949, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale. They recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Together they raised 10 children, 25 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In the early years, shortly after he and Helen married, he had a milk route besides farming. He also served on the Grand Meadow Cheese Factory board for a number of years.
He didn't have a lot of time for hobbies but did enjoy many hunting trips to Montana as well as fishing trips to Lake Michigan sponsored by the feed mill. Dad and mom went on numerous vacations throughout their marriage. Even in their golden years they were able to make annual trips to Montana to visit their oldest son and his family.
Jerome was the kind of man that would do anything to help family, neighbors and friends. He was honest, hardworking and dependable. He provided for his family - not all of our wants - but everything we needed - especially love. Love wasn't said often, but it was felt in everything he did.
He will be missed dearly. He was definitely one of a kind!
Jerome is survived by his wife, Helen, and their children: Jerome (Jerry) Andres, Jr., Judy and Charlie Bangart, Carol and Darrell Pankratz, Roger and Karen Andres, Dave Andres (Deb), Janet and Bill Hinkfuss, Diane Andres (Mike), Tom Andres (Sara), Lynette Andres (Kirk) and Sandy and Mark Andersen, sisters-in-law, Jeanette Andres, Clarice Karl and Annette Deuel, and a brother-in-law Ronald and Tammi Karl.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Mayme Andres, siblings Eleanor and George Carolfi, Marie and Henry Marti, Martha and Ralph Kaiser, Charles and Helen Striegel, Arthur and Judith Andres, Harold and Rose Andres, Donald Andres, Edward Jr. and Shirley Andres, a daughter-in-law, Lynda Andres, mother and father-in-law Wenzel and Florence Karl and brother and sisters-in-law, Martin Karl, James Karl, Richard and Jeannie Karl, Wenzel Karl Jr., and Francis Karl.

I know it's more than 6 months after Uncle Sonny's passing, but I wanted you to know he is remembered and thought of still. I thought he was very easy-going and of impeccable character. It was a blessing to his family and everyone who knew him that we had him and Helen with us for so many years. He seemed to live his life uburdened by ostentatiousness and pretention. His work was very satisfying I believe and he wasn't afraid of hard work. I never heard him brag or boast, and his down-to-earth attitude and friendly personality made him admired by everyone. And in the end, that which he was richest in, was everything money cannot buy, and that is why his was a life well-lived indeed.

On New Years day in the mid 1980's I came down with a horrible stomach 'bug'. A neighbor of Jerome's called me to treat a milk fever. I was literally laying on the cement floor in my basement, trying to break my fever. I knew Jerome treated his own milk fevers and asked the client (may have been one of his brothers) if he could call Jerome because I was too sick to move. Will miss him.
