Jerome Cowell was born in Norfolk County on Tuesday, January 3rd, 1961, to the late Manuel Cowell and Rosena Cowell (nee Campbell). He transitioned to his heavenly home on the afternoon of Sunday, August 16th, 2025. While his departure was not expected by his family, God knew it was time for him to come home…

Jerome was a wonderful and fun-loving person whose favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also loved fishing at the pier and bragged about his cooking skills. He prided himself on showing love for his family and being sure fun was had by all, whenever he was around. Never missing a moment to tell the best jokes and even making you laugh at yourself.

Jerome was predeceased by his grandparents, Franklin E. Hicks, Lena Mann (nee Cowell), Arthur Mann Sr., Luther Campbell, and Celia Campbell; siblings, Loretta Cowell, Fabian Cowell, and Chrissy Banks; and nephews, Travis Carter and Kevin M. Wilkins.

Jerome is survived by his wife, Kim Jones-Cowell; children, Shannata Wynn, Lacosta Mayfield, Janice Wright, and Jerome Wright; grandchildren, Endyia Wynn, Jaquez Outlaw, Martez Outlaw, Markel Outlaw, Jaylen Wright, Jalhia Wright, and Journey Wright; great-grandchildren, Rhyan Carter and Mireya Outlaw. Siblings; Manuel Campbell, Linda Carmack, Anthony Cowell (Kennethia), Gary Cowell, Valerie Cousar, Laura Allen (Aaron), Rosena Cowell, Elder Troy Griffin, Yvette Payling (Lorenzo), Terry Wilkins (Jebbra), Kevin Wilkins (Asia), Wanda Jones (Wayne), Charlie Banks (Susan), Reginald Banks (Tiffany) and Minister Mary Day.
