Jerome Edward Giancola passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. Born on September 19, 1948, in Frankfort, Kentucky, Jerome was the cherished son of the late Ernest and Lillian Giancola. A dedicated educator, Jerome served as a college business professor at the University of Louisville and other institutions, inspiring countless students throughout his career.
Jerome had a profound love for animals, especially his two cherished cats. He is now reunited with Ernie, who predeceased him, while his beloved Frances will deeply miss his presence.
Jerome’s legacy of love and learning lives on through his son, Eric Giancola (Jennifer), and Eric’s mother, Tina Borders. His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, AJ and Julia, who brought him immense pride and joy. He also leaves behind his siblings, Claudette Smith (Mike), Vincent Giancola (Tammy), Tony Giancola (Sam), Diane Giancola (Steve), and Victor Giancola (Vanessa), who will continue to celebrate his life and memory.
Visitation for Jerome will take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow the service.
In honor of Jerome’s lifelong compassion for animals, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Kentucky.
Jerome will be remembered not only for his dedication to education and family but for the warmth, kindness, and love that defined his life.
