It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome (Jerry) Hochevar on October 30, 2025.
Jerry was a resident of Scottsdale since 1961. He graduated from ASU with a baseball scholarship where he had the honor of playing for Bobby Winkles. In 1961 he married the love of his life, Linda Battaglia. He joined Ford Motor in 1963. He was honored to receive the Ford Division Distinguished Achievement Award in 1971. He was also a member of the Sun Angel Foundation. He and Linda moved in 1976 to Pinetop, Arizona where they built and opened White Mountain Ford in Show Low. He was a member of Rotary and on the board of Show Low Chamber of Commerce. They retired in 1983 and spent their summers with many friends in Park City, Utah.
Jerry battled Parkinson's for nineteen years which took away his ability to enjoy golf and sports. Jerry and Linda shared 64 years together. They were blessed with two hard working sons, Joseph (Anne) of Allan, Texas and Philip (Lucy) of Tucson as well as five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Campbell of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and brother-in-law, Anthony Battaglia of Wexford, Pennsylvania. Jerry was a longtime member of Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church.
Our entire family would like to express our sincere gratitude to his caregiver, Shelly, and the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Valley Eckstein Center.
