Jerome (Jerry) Weingart, 98 of Sugar Land, TX passed away on August 12, 2024. He was born on September 14, 1925, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was a faithful Roman Catholic, a Knight of Columbus and most recently attended St. Laurence in Sugar Land, TX.
Jerry shared 66 years with his wife, Kathleen (Kathy) McHale being married on Veteran's Day in 1950. Jerry was an army veteran of WW II serving in Europe. He pursued a career in the US Postal Service rising to Postmaster in both Edison & Metuchen, NJ. He enjoyed a long retirement in Sunrise and DeLand, Florida before moving closer to his daughter in Sugar Land, TX in 2017 after Kathy's passing. Jerry loved the outdoors especially gardening, tinkering with electronic gadgets and watching baseball and golf.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Muoio and son-in law, Jim Muoio; his son, Jerry and daughter-in law Debby; his daughter-in-law Sandy (Bill); his grandchildren and their spouses, Sandra Weingart and Erica Crosman, Melissa Jordan, John Rebman and Ariela, Robert Rebman and Kaitlin, Jerry and Christopher; his great-grandchildren, Gavin and Hayden Jordan, David, Kelly and Dustin Rebman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; parents, Jerome Edward and Elsie Weingart; and his son, Bill Weingart.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a service at 4:30 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Chapel, 7723 Beechnut, Houston, TX 77074. A private interment will take place in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.
