Jerome (Jay) Woodward was born on February 4, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio to Jerome Ambrose Woodward and Grace Ruth (Rucker) Woodward, who both preceded him in death. He took off the flesh on Friday, March 3, 2023.
Jay graduated from Rosary High School in 1961 in Columbus, Ohio, where he excelled in academics and track. He was married to his first wife Cheryl Lytle in 1965, in which they had two children, Monica Eileen and Gina Marie. He was hired as a Rolling Mill Operator at General Motors in 1968, where he worked for 29 years until he had a work related accident that caused him to retire early. While working at General Motors, he was introduced to the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research (IDMR) by Kenny Sparrow a longtime friend. This was a significant moment that would change his life forever. Jay met the Founder and Dean of the Institute Dr. Henry C. Kinley in 1971. Of the many encounters, Jay would share when Dr. Kinley took him and Kenny on a fishing trip and Dr. Kinley said, "boys you're gonna have to fight, but recognize WHO is doing the fighting."
In 1972, Jay met Pamela (Pam) Hughes in the Springfield, Ohio branch of IDMR and in 1973 they were united in marriage, in which they had two children, Carla Renee' and Kevin Garrett.
Jay was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jerome Ambrose and Grace Ruth Woodward.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Pam; daughter, Monica of Columbus, OH, Gina of Columbus, Ohio, Carla (Ronald) of Middletown, Ohio; son, Kevin (Sherese) of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Acknowledgements
Maybe you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair,
Maybe you sent beautiful flowers
If so, we saw them there.
Maybe you sent or spoke the kindest words
That any friend could say;
Maybe you were not there at all,
But just thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so much, whatever the part.
