John Pannell Obituary
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he returned to Columbus to marry the love of his life. Sylvia A. Smith. Together they had and raised three sons with various activities and interest. Johnny enjoyed living with his family in Columbus, Ohio.
Where they were life time members at Saint Dominic's Church where he was a faithful member of the Saint Dominic Church traditional choir and men's prayer breakfast. He enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, cruising with his wife and dancing with his only sister! He retired from UPS as a diesel mechanic.
Preceded in death by his mother Winifred, Gilchrist Pannell, his father, Earl, C Pannell and brothers Thomas, E Pannell and Timothy P Pannell.
Survived to mourn his loss is his loving wife of 60 years Sylvia A. Pannell, his sons John B (Marianne) Pannell, Darrell A. (Rachel) Pannell and Eric T (Melissa Waugh-)Pannell. Grandchildren Tamika, Payton, Nala, Mia, Kendall, and Kennedy. Great Grandchildren Omari, Nasir, and Ezra. Sister Bernadine (James) Neal, Sister-in-law's; Octrayia Pannell, Deborah Pannell, Diane (Richard) Brown. Brother-in-law's; Clarence, W "Porky" Smith and Steven A. (Anona) Smith. Johnny has many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him and will truly miss his jovial laughter. Special thank you to cousin Joella Alexander, and Echo Hospice.
Visitation will be held o Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a Mass immediately following at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 455 N 20th St, Columbus, OH 43203. Burial will process to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.
