Jerrel Ellis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lescher Millsap Funeral Service, LLC - Muskogee on Jan. 27, 2026.
Jerrel Glen Ellis, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on January 9, 2026. He was born on February 24, 1938, in Braggs, Oklahoma, to Clarence E. Ellis and Edna (Branam) Ellis.
Jerrel was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Anna Fay (Garner) Ellis, whom he married on February 22, 1980, in Gore, Oklahoma. Together, they created a beautifully blended family rooted in love, faith, and devotion. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa (Cash) Spears; his grandson, Stevie Newman; his great-granddaughter, Jessi Haworth; his brothers Carl, Harold, Ebert, and Earl Ellis; and his sisters Murrel Ellis, Margie Cowan, Pearl McIntire, Joann Bishop, and Judy Jones.
Jerrel is survived by seven of his eight children: Ed (Margaret) Cash, Don (Teresa) Cash, Carla Carr, and David (Nelita) Cash, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Kimberly (Mickey) Newman of Atkins, Arkansas; James Ellis of Eufaula, Oklahoma; and Matthew (Tina) Cash of Sperry, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister, Irene Benoun of California. Jerrel leaves behind a legacy of love through his many descendants, including 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Jerrel was a hardworking man who spent many years at Anderson Wholesale, where he served faithfully as a driver, salesman, and night watchman. Outside of work, he loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing-pastimes that brought him peace and joy and created many cherished memories with family and friends.
A man of deep faith, Jerrel was a faithful member of Braggs First Baptist Church and dearly loved his church family. His kindness, steady presence, strong work ethic, and devotion to God and family will be remembered by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Spears, Brandon Spears, Cole Cash, Charlie McDowell, Rickie Cash, Jason Cash, Jacob Cash, and Blaine Cash. Honorary Pallbearers are JR Newman, Brayden Ellis, Clayton Cash, Conner Cash, Tyler Cash, and Justin Haworth.
Daddy, Pop, Grandpa, Papa-no matter the name he was called, Jerrel will be greatly missed, but his life, faith, and love leave a lasting imprint on generations to come.
Visitation for Jerrel will be Tuesday January 13th, 2026 from 10:00-8:00 pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday January 14th, 2026 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee, with burial to follow at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, Oklahoma.
