Jerrick Jim, born on June 30, 1989, in Gallup, New Mexico, passed away on September 2, 2025, in Mescalero, New Mexico.
Jerrick was a blackjack dealer at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. He was known for always lending a helping hand and greeted everyone he met with warmth, making friends easily through his talkative and joking personality. Jerrick had a love for the outdoors, especially with his kids.
He loved being around his family, which included his son, Jerome Jerrick Jim; his daughters, Jasmine Sunshine Jim and Jaylah Sunflower Jim; his father, Franklin Jim; his mother, Jeanette Herrera; and his girlfriend, Julie Pesewonit. Jerrick also shared strong bonds with his siblings, Ferdinand Trujillo, Fabian Trujillo, Franette Jim, Leanna Trujillo, and Emily Jim. His family extended to include his grandma, Dorothy Herrera, and a close-knit network of relatives: Reva Trujillo and family, Nelson Jim and family, Otto Jim and family, Bertha Herrera and family, Tena Begay and family, Gerald Begay and family, and Hazel Commanche and family.
He is preceded in death by several beloved family members, including his grandpa Kee Herrera, grandmas Bessie Jim and Tom Jim Jr, his brother Vernan Jim, and his aunt and uncle, Reanna Jim and Benson Jim, along with other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He will be remembered for his joyful spirit, love for playing video games, and the kindness he shared with others.
A visitation will be held at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 09, 2025. The funeral procession will leave the next morning at 9:00AM where Jerrick's life will be honored during a graveside service on September 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Gavilan Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ruidoso.
