On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the world lost a beacon of love and kindness with the passing of Jerrie Batchelor at her home, in Scurry, Texas. Jerrie was born on the 11th of March, 1947, in Dallas, TX, to her parents, Milton and Odessa (Skinner) Stanley. Jerrie’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of family, laughter and cherished memories.
Family was at the core of Jerrie’s being. Her devotion to her loved ones knew no bounds. She leaves behind a legacy of love and care that will live on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Those who remain to cherish her memories are her daughter, Keale and spouse Perry Belinowski, daughter Carla Ford, son Ricky Batchelor, sister Linda Chance; grandchildren Donia & Jerrod, Bobby & Karla, Ashley & Joaquin, Maile & Clyde, Taken, Taryn, Craig, Jayson and Erin; great-grandchildren Bradyn & Kelsi, Blake, Brent, Cade, Harley, Stormi, Stoney, Alex, Dallas, Kamri and Carter; great-great-grandchildren Hayden, Mikah, Scarlett and Olivia Blake.
Those preceding Jerrie in death were her husband, JW Batchelor, parents, Milton and Odessa Stanley, daughter Donna Allen, son Billy Batchelor and brothers Donald Bruton, Michael Stanley and M.J. Stanley.
Jerrie is fondly remembered for her love for yard work and gardening along with her passion for collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Her sense of humor could light up any room she entered. Jerrie had a knack for making everyone feel welcome with her warm smile.
Among Jerrie’s accomplishments was raising Maltese dogs with love and dedication. She found joy in simple pleasures, like shopping and collecting items from auctions. Her love for gambling and bingo brought fun and adventure to her life. As an avid hunter and angler, she found solace in nature’s embrace.
Services to honor Jerrie’s life are being held at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman on Friday, July 5th. A visitation will take place at 10:00am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am. The interment will be at Cottonwood Cemetery, in Scurry, at 12:00pm. Brother Todd Peavy will be officiating.
Jerrie Batchelor touched countless hearts during her time on Earth; her kindness reverberating through the lives she touched. May her spirit soar free as she watches over her beloved family and friends from above.
