Jerry Smith Baker

Mr. Jerry Smith Baker, age 85, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Carolinas Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Wolfe Funeral Home. The funeral ceremony will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The burial will be concluded at Zoar U.M.C Cemetery 13611 Zoar Rd, Charlotte, NC 28278. Born in Monroe, NC, Jerry was a son of the late Dock Theopolis Baker and Hattie Druscilla Tadlock Baker. He graduated from Monroe High School and was a Truck Driver at Eckerd Drugs Corporation for 38 years before retirement. Jerry was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church. He enjoyed Nascar, drag racing, bowling and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Deborah Jean Hunsucker of Fort Mill, SC and Jerry Dwayne Baker of York, SC; his brother, Jimmy Baker of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Kristen Starnes, Dustin Webb, Casey Danielle Baker, Montana Skye Horton, Alec Horton, Brett Michael Hunsucker; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Lucy Constance Baker and 11 siblings.
