Jerry Elmon Berryhill, age 82, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on July 10, 2023. Jerry was born on December 29, 1940, to John Berryhill and Lillie Belle Franks. Jerry completed his MFA at the University of Alabama and worked as a chemical engineer.
A beloved father and husband, Jerry dedicated his years with love to providing for his family. He is remembered for his pragmatic wisdom, idiosyncratic humor, and an abundance of guidance, concern and protection. Our remaining years on this Earth will be profoundly marked by the memory of this love.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Elmon Berryhill and Lillie Belle Franks; sisters, Lola Gay Berryhill and Joan Berryhill Clark; and niece, Jana Clark Allen. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vestalia Parcero Berryhill; daughters, Valerie Berryhill Pittman and Angie Berryhill Johnson; son, John Edward Berryhill; grandchildren: Sofia Carolina Pittman, Henry Wayne Pittman, and Rhys Wayne Pittman; nephew, Bill Clark; and niece, Lili Clark Turner.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Resthaven Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM.
