Charles Berryhill Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Berryhill, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025 with his family by his side, in Belton, South Carolina. Born on November 11, 1951, in Whittier, California, Charlie was a man whose life was marked by love, generosity, and a remarkable knack for fixing just about anything.

Charlie was the beloved husband of Vicki Berryhill, with whom he shared a life full of joy and companionship. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie P. Berryhill, his father, Lewis R. Berryhill, and his siblings, Donna, David, and Lewis Jr. His legacy continues through his children, Teena, Casey (Brian), John (Renee), Kevin (Mandy), and Jason, as well as his brother, Bob Luster. Charlie was a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, of whom brought immense happiness and laughter into his life.

For many years, Charlie was the respected owner of the heating and air company Moon & Freeman of the Upstate. His work was not just a job but a passion, as he took pride in providing comfort to countless families through his expertise. His dedication to his craft and his clients was evident in the lasting relationships he built and the trust he earned within the community.

Charlie's interests were as varied as his personality was. He relished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, creating memories that they will hold dear for a lifetime. As someone who enjoyed the outdoors, and considered camping his "happy place". He enjoyed taking his 73' Chevrolet Nova Hatchback to classic car shows. He also enjoyed remodeling house, and fixing broken things, he enjoyed using times he fixed things to teach his grands and great grands how to do these things also.

When he wasn't busy with family, work, or his hobbies, Charlie could be found relaxing at home, with the TV tuned to an old western. It was in these quiet moments that he recharged, ready to give of himself once again to the people and projects he loved.

Charlie was the epitome of a loving, generous, and handy individual. His ability to fix things extended beyond the mechanical; he had a unique talent for mending hearts with his kindness and making problems seem smaller with his wisdom. His presence was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew him.

As we say goodbye to Charles Berryhill, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories told, the lessons passed down, and the warm embrace of a family that was his greatest pride and joy. Charlie's journey on earth has ended, but his spirit remains a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him.
