Robert Junior Berryhill

Robert Junior Berryhill, 96, of Muskogee, OK, passed away at his home on August 12, 2025. He was born on May 14, 1929, in Nettleton, MS, to Robert and Tempie (McCormick) Berryhill.

Robert proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. His life was defined by dedication-both to his family and to the people he served as a compassionate and devoted Social Worker and Director of Education for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

On July 9, 1951, Robert married the love of his life and best friend, Elizabeth Jane (Hussey) Berryhill. Together, they shared 74 beautiful years filled with love, faith, and family. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Robert's faith guided his life and his service to others.

In his younger years, Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting. In more recent years, his greatest joy came from time spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Jane Berryhill; his parents, Robert and Tempie Berryhill; and brothers, Roy, Ralph, and David Berryhill.

Robert is survived by his son, Michael Berryhill and wife Beth; daughter, Janet Murphy and special friend Jeff Woodard; grandchildren, Charla Fulton and Tommy Evans, Jason Fulton, Rachael Fulton, William Berryhill, and Jordan Berryhill and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Kristina Harper, Katy Reheard and husband Seth, Grady Campbell and wife Jessi, Landy Scott, Walker Scott, Jacob Berryhill, Cole Berryhill, Mallory Lee, Samantha Berryhill, Shania Berryhill, Sierra Berryhill, Rayden Sellers and Kylee Crowley, Mercedes Sellers, and Timothy Sellers; 10 great-great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way; brothers, Gwin Berryhill and wife Terry, and Don Berryhill and wife Dianne. He also leaves behind many special friends, including "The Tuesday Girls," the caring staff at CompleteOK Hospice, and the dedicated staff of Home Helpers Home Care.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lescher Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee. Funeral services will take place Monday, August 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Lescher Millsap Funeral Home, with Minister Donald Cherry officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
