Jerry Bird, a cherished son, father, and friend, passed away on May 19, 2025, in Mooresville, Indiana. Born on October 30, 1948, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Jerry lived a life filled with purpose, dedication, and love for those around him.
Jerry's professional journey as a Radiology Technician and manager spanned multiple hospitals across the state, showcasing his unwavering commitment to healthcare and the well-being of countless patients. His expertise and compassion made a profound difference, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. He approached each day with passion, embodying the spirit of service that defined his career.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jerry was an active member of the FreeMason community, where he found camaraderie and shared values. His enthusiasm for theatre was unmistakable; he spent many fulfilling years contributing his talents to the stage crew at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Indianapolis. Those who had the pleasure of working alongside him knew him for his kindness, generosity, and ability to elevate any production with his hard work and vibrant spirit.
Jerry leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory. He is survived by his son, Michael Bird (Ame) of Indianapolis, IN, and his daughter, Samantha Renner (Matt) of Brownsburg, IN. He will be deeply missed by his three nieces and one nephew, along with numerous great nieces and nephews, whose lives he touched with his warmth and affection.
Together with his loved ones, we remember Jerry also for the strength and resilience he inherited from his parents, Fremon "Dale" Bird and Margaret Elizabeth Bird, and for the special bond he shared with his sister, Margaret Ann (Jerry) Tuttle, who awaits him on the other side.
As we reflect on his life, we are reminded that Jerry's legacy is one of love, service, and joy. He leaves a sorrowful yet grateful family who will honor his memory by carrying his spirit of kindness forward. His laughter, wisdom, and loving presence will remain in our hearts forever.
