The funeral service will be Friday, October 10, in the funeral home chapel, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Gary Carter officiating. Interment will be in Piney Grove Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Jerry was a member of the Church of Christ. He was married to Sue N. Brewer for sixty-five years. Jerry served in the US Navy for four years, most of that time in the Far East. He worked many years with Young Welding Supply, then went in business with his brother-in-law, operating Advanced Welding for twenty years. After retirement, Jerry enjoyed working in his garden. He loved to joke and had a great sense of humor. Jerry spent years providing part-time preaching services to different congregations in Franklin and Colbert Counties. He was preceded in death by an infant son; parents, William J. Brewer and Carolyn Holt Brewer; Jim Massey, Ann Hovator (SC), Nancy Watts, Jeanie Graham, Jackie Brewer, and Jimmy Brewer.
Along with his wife, Jerry is survived by his sisters, Joyce Massey, Martha Myrick, Nell Holt (Charles), and Gail Delashaw (Michael); special family member, Tony Segrest; and a host of friends and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Young, Jackie Brewer, Tony Brewer, Dax Holt, Curtis Brewer, and Neal Myrick. Tony Segrest, Chris Black, and Thomas Sherrod will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Jerry's last year was spent at Arabella Care Clinic with Compassus Hospice Care. Much thanks and appreciation go to all the caregivers.
