Jerry Winthrop Brown, 76, of Palm Coast, formerly of St. Augustine, died February 20, 2024 at the Stuart Meyer Hospice Center in Palm Coast. Jerry was born in Mobile, AL, son of the late Raymond and Maymie Brown and had resided in St. Augustine and Palm Coast for many years. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Russell Brown, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories.
Jerry retired from Bellsouth in 2010 after a commendable 42-year career, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and hard work. Jerry was also a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Jerry was a former member of the Moose Lodge. His leadership and enthusiasm shone brightly during his time as a Board Member of the St. Augustine Four Wheel Drive Club. As a lifelong member of the Gopher Ridge Hunting Club, Jerry found joy in the companionship of fellow hunters and the beauty of nature.
An avid lover of the outdoors, many of Jerry's happiest moments were spent fishing, boating, embracing the natural world and enjoying his friends.
Jerry leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his son, Stephen Brown and his wife Traci of Wilmington, NC; stepdaughter, Lise Tomlinson of Palm Coast, FL; stepson, Daniel Tomlinson and his wife, Carmel of Waialua, Hawaii; and his sister, Rhea Ragle and her husband, Bill of Weston Lakes, TX. His legacy will also live on through his grandchildren, J.D. Tomlinson and Kristin Galvano, and his great-grandson, Wyatt.
A Celebration of life will be held on April 7th, 2024 from 2-6 PM at Tringali Barn, Heritage Farms, 7310 US Highway 1 South, St. Augustine, FL.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
