Jerry Denning, 63, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, January 6th.
Jerry was born June 11, 1958 in Des Moines to Carol Richey and Wilford "Bud" Denning. He was a self-employed painter and worked for Iowa Paint and Boone Speedway. Jerry was a board member, coach, umpire and very active volunteer for Grandview Little League.
Jerry enjoyed riding his Harley at any chance he could. That is how he became part of the Angels for Sam family. Other things he loved included Auto racing, coaching and watching his kids play sports along with watching all things sports on tv. Spending time with his wife, family and friends. Jerry touched countless lives and knew no stranger. He would do anything for anybody at any time!
The family request casual wear for the services with Racing and Harley shirts preferred.
Survivors include his wife, Rachelle Denning; children: Adam Denning, Amy (Kevin) Denning, Kyle (Kelli) Denning, Jordan (Chris) Baker, Kammey (Brett) Baker, Jared (Cassidy) Baker, Shaunicy (Cody) Baker; grandchildren: Bryler, Milli, Maddax, Marcella, Ava, Trent, Austin, Nora, Jace, Dax; siblings: Richard Denning, Kathy Graves; sister-in-law, Christine Denning; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Sandra Brown and Billy Denning.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jerry's family for a memorial fund to be determined.
