Jerry Edward Doehrer, 75, of Baroda succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on Oct. 28, 2022.
Jerry was born June 4, 1947, to the late Albert and Frances (Wessels) Doehrer.
He graduated from Galien High School in 1965 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1966. He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps for seven years reaching rank of sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 344 for 54 years.
On July 16, 1982, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Richter in Sodus.
Jerry loved fishing, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren. He worked at Clark Equipment for 18 years until they closed. He then opened S&D Service Center in Galien with his best friend, closing when his friend passed. He then went to work for Gast Manufacturing as a CNC operator until he retired after 30 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rebecca, of 40 years; son, Jerry (Judy) Doehrer; daughters: Lisa (Steve) Simon, Robin Freeman and Regina Goins; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Jerry was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Frances; his brother, Alan Doehrer; and best friend, Terry Simpson.

To honor Jerry's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to either the American Cancer Society or the American Legion Post 344 in memory of Jerry's name.
