Services for Jerry Dunn, 67, of Eustace, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Faith Church of Athens with Pastor Darren Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank.
Mr. Dunn passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on September 25, 2024, in Athens.
Jerry Mark Dunn was born January 29, 1957, in Kaufman, Texas the son of Preston Erwin Dunn and Birdie Evalyn (Craft) Dunn. He married the love of his life Connie Bernice (Stanford) Dunn on July 28, 1982. He worked in the concrete business for over 37 years, owned and operated Dunn and Son Excavation Company and Dunn's Southwest Concrete. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, was a very successful scientific deer breeder who was featured in numerous magazines for his hunting adventures. He loved woodworking, making everything from guitars to furniture. He was a cowboy who in his earlier years competed as a bulldogger and a cattleman. Jerry was a man who adored his family and will leave a legacy of love and laughter for all those he knew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter Ashley Koonce and his sister Jo Dunn Skiles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Connie Dunn of Eustace; his children, Chris Koonce and wife Cherie of Eustace, Jerrad Dunn and wife Hollie of Midland, Kenzie Michelle Dunn and husband Justin of Canton; grandchildren, Derek, Christian, Hayden, Holden, Bryleigh, Jace, Jett, Shelby, Katelynn; ten great grandchildren and siblings, Thomas "Tommy" Dunn and wife Sherry and Presley Splawn.
A visitation will be held 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
