Jerry F. Edge, "Buck," a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 4, 2025, in Biloxi, MS, at the age of 86. Born on June 13, 1939, in Florida, Jerry devoted his life to service and family, embodying a spirit of dedication and love that will long be cherished by those who knew him.
A proud veteran, Jerry retired from the United States Air Force as an E-8 after many years of honorable service. His military career was marked not only by his commitment to his country but also by the strong values he instilled in his family. Following his service, he became a successful business owner of S&S Pet Supplies. Jerry earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration which equipped him with the knowledge to thrive in his business ventures.
Outside of his career, Jerry's true passion lay in the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in fishing and hunting, often spending weekends outdoors. Above all, Jerry treasured his family, and his legacy will live on through their fond memories and stories.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy Edge, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He was a proud father to his sons, Jason F. (Elanna) Edge and Jeffrey A. (Jeannie) Edge, and daughter Elka (Bill) King. His warmth and guidance will forever echo in the hearts of his grandchildren: Jessica (Jesse) Calvert, Ashley (Dustin) Edge, Lauren Edge, Hunter (Devynn) Edge, and William (Mckensie) King. As a great-grandfather, he delighted in his role, nurturing connections with Alexa, Addisyn, Ryan, Ryder, River, Henry, and Miles. Additionally, he was a cherished brother to Bobby Edge and an uncle to many nieces and nephews, to whom he imparted his wisdom and kindness.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, William, and Talma Edge, who laid the foundation for his values; his sister Sybil Delaney; and his brothers Wrenn Edge, Raymond Edge, and Ronnie Edge. While they may have departed this world, their love and influence remain interwoven in the fabric of Jerry’s life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the support, kind words, and prayers during this difficult time. As they come together to celebrate Jerry’s life, they wish not to say goodbye, but rather "see you later," cherishing the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on August 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport, MS on Three Rivers Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, leading to a graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
Jerry F. Edge represented love, service, and steadfastness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide his family as they carry forward his legacy.
