Mr. Burnice Edge, 88 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Bethesda Health Care Facility surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Wayne Cannady. Burial will follow at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Carson Edge and Bessie Ellis Edge; brother, Frank Terry Edge; and sister, Clara McCabe.
Burnice was the owner and operator of Edge Masonry. He was a brick mason most of his life before retiring. He loved playing golf, hunting, riding his tractor, gardening and spending time with his family. He especially loved playing with his grandkids.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 68 years, Edith Matthews Edge; daughters, Angela Cannady & husband, Wayne of Harrells, and Peggy Crumpler & husband, Jimmy of Stedman; son, Raymond Edge of Stedman; grandchildren, Victoria Crumpler, Anna Caitlin Paylor & husband, Steven, Savannah Crumpler Baroody & husband, Alex, and Christopher Cannady & wife, Danielle; and great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Ellie Claire, Jackson Paylor, and Levi and Elliott Cannady.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC 28391.
