Jerry L. Everhart, age 82, of Gratis, OH passed away on Wednesday, October 22 at Hospice of Middletown. He was born on March 26, 1943 in Greene County, TN to the late William S. and Eva Anna (Poe) Everhart.
Jerry had a long career at Mound Laboratories in Miamisburg, OH as a metrologist pioneering processes for measurement assurance. After retiring from Mound, he did consulting work for the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST). He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and in his later years started a podcast with friends called The Hunt Fish Journal and taught seminars on deer hunting. He was a lifelong member of the Gratis United Methodist Church where he served as lay speaker, Sunday School teacher and on committees and boards. He loved God, his family and his church family.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Patricia A. (Hall) Everhart; brother William E. Everhart; and sister Nancy Mordecai.
He is survived by his sons Ken Everhart of Miamisburg, OH and Craig Everhart of Gratis, OH; grandson Mark Everhart of Columbus, OH and granddaughter Sara Everhart of Miamisburg, OH; granddaughter Anna Everhart of Gratis, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 10:30 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 pm at Gratis United Methodist Church, 11 South Ada Doty Street, Gratis, OH with Pastor Toby Lafuze officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420 and/or Gratis United Methodist Church.
