Jerry Lee Fergason, 77, of Lorena, passed away on July 18th, 2024 after a long full life.
Jerry was born on June 13, 1947 in Cleburne, Texas to parents Lester Pruitt Fergason and Gladys Mae Fergason.
In 1968 Jerry met and married Betty Jo Wilkinson. Jerry and Betty went on to have 2 children, Mark and Wendy.
In his spare time Jerry enjoyed cheering for the Lorena Leopards and Baylor Bears. Jerry and Betty would often attend Baylor women's basketball games. If you were a visitor to the Leopards on Friday night, there's a good chance Jerry and Betty took your tickets. Jerry had a lifelong love of the lake, either camping, boating, or fishing. He also went through many phases of hobbies, including model railroads, raising finches, and geneology.
Jerry worked as a roofer and then for Lorena School District in maintenance and IT roles. Jerry retired from Lorena ISD in 2012 and was able to spend even more time traveling in his RV, fishing, and woodworking in his shop.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Everett Baker, Clay Dell Fergason, and Beverly Faris. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Fergason, children Wendy Dunlap (Troye) and Mark Fergason (Amber), grandchildren Colt Dunlap, Cam Dunlap, Mary Dunlap, and Tyler Fergason, and siblings Jesse Fergason and Nancy Flurry.
Services will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home on July 23rd at 2:00pm. Visitation will be at the Fergason residence following the service.
